Hello, my name is...

First off, my fears of starting my own blog have been confirmed. I knew I was going to be blogger challenged...hence the "dots" template. I tried for about 10 minutes to find a pretty design for the background of my new blog and gave up. I need someone to show me how to customize my page, quick!

That being said I could not resist naming my blog "Keeping Up With the Joneses." I know it's a tad cliche, but since I am Mrs. Jones now and since this is a blog about my life (and blogs are essentially just people talking about themselves,) I just think it is too fitting a choice.

For my first post I thought I would just give a quick overview about what is going on with me and then when something exciting happens there will be better things to write about.

Most recently I was married to my lover, Tyler Jones. I was going to write "best friend" but with the title of my blog already being cliche I decided to steer clear of any more of those. Anyway, he really has been my best friend (and lover) for almost 7 years now and our wedding was everything that I had planned for it to be. I had so much fun the weekend of our wedding that I literally had something similar to post-partum depression when it was all over. It was PERFECT and I can't even talk about it because I will start to get sad again.

We immediately went on our honeymoon to Saint Lucia which was wonderful, but I do wish we would have waited and gone after some time had passed. The reason is simply because the first few days after the wedding you need time to process... talk, and laugh about everything with all your friends and family. Plus, like I said, there was a little bit of sadness for me when it was all over... it went by sooo fast and it would have been nice to soak it all in and still have the honeymoon to look forward to.

Regardless the honeymoon was amazing. The island of Saint Lucia was recently featured on the show, 'The Bachelor' and it really is THAT beautiful. Of course we did not stay at the lavish Jade Mountian Resort shown on the finale but we did pass by it while taking a tour of the island. We stayed at the Sandals Regency, an all-inclusive resort. I would recommend it but if we ever go back I would prefer to stay somewhere a little more authentic. The staff there were very friendly and the restaurants were impressive to say the least. The highlight of the trip for me was going horseback riding on the beach. I have done it before in South Padre but the beaches in Saint Lucia are far more beautful! There is only one place to ride in Saint Lucia and they let you ride bareback into the ocean, so if you ever go there I highly suggest you take advantage!

It has been two months since the wedding and life has gone on. Tyler and I are both working and looking for more permanant jobs. Tyler calls it looking for a "real job." To that I say, "Oh, my job isn't real? 'Cause it sure feels real when I wake up every morning at 6:30 and go to work for 8 hours!" What he really means is that as a Teacher's Aide my job is just a stepping stone to becoming an actual Teacher...and... his job as a D-Bat Coach is just a stepping stone to becoming a High School Coach and Teacher.

Spring break is this week so I will most likely spend it sleeping in and catching up on my to-do list. Also, I am a netflix freak so I hope to watch as many movies as I can. Next up, Meryl Streep in her oscar nominated (surprise) performance in 'One True Thing.' I've never seen it!
